Friesen Hänigsen (officially: Turn- und Sportverein Friesen Hänigsen from 1908 eV ) is a sports club from the town of Hänigsen in the Hanover region, which belongs to the municipality of Uetze . The first soccer team played between 1981 and 1993 in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony and once took part in the DFB Cup .

history

The association was founded in 1908. In 1960 they made the promotion to the then third class amateur league 7 , where they first came fourth twice and then relegated in 1963. At the end of the 1970s, the sporting soaring began. In 1978 they were promoted to the Association League South , qualified a year later for the newly created Landesliga West and in 1981 they were promoted to the Association League Lower Saxony . The team was financed by an additional monthly contribution of ten marks from each member of the football department, who received free entry in return.

In 1984 the team won the Lower Saxony Cup and qualified for the DFB Cup. In the first round , the team caused a surprise with a 5-2 win after extra time at VfL Osnabrück . In round two they met FC Bayern Munich , who won the game 8-0 in front of 16,000 spectators. Friesen goalkeeper Ralf Krüger was allowed to draw the third round a short time later in the sports show .

Three years later you just missed the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord . Due to the poor goal difference , like Prussia Hameln, the third place entitled to the promotion round was missed , which went to VfR Osterode 08 . In the early 1990s, the club ran into financial difficulties, which meant that numerous top performers left the club.

In 1993 the team was relegated as the penultimate and the club was thinking aloud about a voluntary withdrawal to the district class. With a debt of 180,000 marks in mind, the main club instructed its football department to only spend 5,000 marks a month. After twelve match days of the 1994/95 season, from which they only got one point, the team was withdrawn. After relegation from the district class, the first team has played in the district league Hannover-Land 1 since 2005.
