Club development

The company sports association (BSG) Chemie Völpke was founded by VEB Montanwachsfabrik at the end of the 1940s . In the early 1970s, BSG Chemie merged with BSG Stahl in the neighboring town of Badeleben to form the Central Sports Association (ZSG) Völpke. When after the political change in 1990 the support of the Montanwachsfabrik was stopped due to the economic changes, members of the ZSG founded the registered association Turn- und Sportverein (TSV) Völpke.

Development of the sport of football

The BSG Chemie played in the district class Haldensleben until 1952. After the reorganization of the league system in the GDR in 1952, the BSG was incorporated into the fifth-class district class Oschersleben. In 1954 she became district champion and after six wins in eight promotion games rose to the Magdeburg district class. Then there was an up and down between the district and district class. The last success in the GDR football system was the 1972 district cup win by ZSG Völpke.

With the introduction of the DFB game operations , TSV Völpke was classified in 1990, the newly formed Oschersleben district league. In 1996, the district championship was won, which was associated with promotion to the Magdeburg state class. Three years later, in 1999, the TSV made it to the then fifth-class Association League Saxony-Anhalt .

After relegation in 1999/2000, Thoralf Bennert joined the club that had previously worked for Vorwärts Frankfurt / O. in the GDR Oberliga and for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the 2nd Bundesliga . He was initially a player-coach until he ended his career as a soccer player in 2006. After that he was a successful coach of the 1st team. With goalkeeper Frank Pietruska , who was also experienced in the GDR league , Völpke became vice-national champion in 2003, and on May 18, 2004 the TSV reached the final of the national cup competition. TSV defeated SV Dessau 05 in Dessau's Paul-Greifzu-Stadion in front of 2,300 spectators 3-2 and qualified for the 2004/05 DFB Cup competition . The German champions FC Bayern Munich were drawn to the Völpkern . In order to meet the great interest of the audience, the TSV competed again on August 21, 2004 in the Dessau Paul Greifzu Stadium. In front of 21,000 spectators, the fifth division was defeated by the soccer champions 0: 6.

On June 11, 2005, TSV won the national championship title with a 2-1 victory at FSV Hettstedt , thus achieving promotion to the amateur league and celebrating its greatest success to date. At the end of the 2005/06 season, Völpke was in 14th place in the Oberliga Nordost and had to relegate back to the association league after losing two relegation games against TSG Neustrelitz (0: 1, 1: 2 n. V.). After the 2014/15 season, TSV withdrew its first team from the association league because there was no longer a competitive squad available and considered a start in the seventh-class state league Saxony-Anhalt. Shortly thereafter, it was decided to put the game on hold and the aim was to start with a team in the district class in the future. In the 2018/19 season, the new first men's team entered the lowest division, the 2nd Bördekreisklasse.
