The TVR Tamora is a two-seater sports car that was built by the British car manufacturer TVR from 2002 to 2006 . It was supposed to close the gap that had arisen after Chimaera and Griffith ended production .

The Tamora has an in-line six-cylinder engine with an aluminum housing, two overhead camshafts and 24 valves. The TVR SPEED SIX (AJP6), designed by Al Melling with a displacement of 3.6 to 4.7 liters (from TVR Powers Performance), develops 261 kW (350 hp) at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 290 lb⋅ft (390 N⋅m) at 5500 rpm. It has a dry sump lubrication with approx. 11 l of oil. Together with a manually operated T5 five-speed gearbox, it accelerates the Tamora from zero to a hundred kilometers per hour in 4.2 seconds or less, depending on the engine, and reaches a top speed of over 280 km / h.

Since the SpeedSix has no knock sensors, SuperPlus with 98ROZ / RON is required / mandatory. The engines have a compression of 11.5 to 12.5: 1, depending on the displacement.

From 2004 there was a facelift and there were also minor changes to the SP6 engine, as well as the header tank against a swirl pot with expansion tank (cooling water expansion tank) on the right bulkhead (near the airbox).

The tires have the size of 225 / 35-18 at the front and 235 / 40-18 at the rear on 8.5x18-inch "Spider" wheels (TeamDynamics) ET42 & ET 33. Since the front 225 / 35s are relatively difficult to 225 / 40-18 can be used, some of them have 255 / 35-18 at the rear, these require an adjustment because not all Tamora bodies are the same due to the handcraft. First Tamoras had 7.5x16-inch wheels with 225 / 50-16 tires all around and the 18-inch wheels as an option.

The vehicle height was adjustable on the chassis, shock absorbers from the manufacturers Gazzmatic International Limited (Gaz-Gold / Pro) and Nitron Racing Shocks were available. With these, the rebound and compression levels can be adjusted.

There are no electronic driving aids or airbags.

TVR only produced right-hand drive (RHD) Tamoras.

Only very few (about 10–12) RED ROSE Tamora were produced, these have either an SP6 engine with 3.6 l and 283 kW (385 hp) or 4.0 l and 294 kW (400 hp), plus larger brake discs (322 mm at the front and 289 mm at the rear), a “close ratio” manual transmission, “big-bore” exhaust system and the hydratrack differential. (instead of the BTR limited-slip differential) TVR installed brake discs from AP-Racing as standard, front with 304 mm diameter, rear 282 mm.

Vinylester Lightweight Bodies were not built, but the TVR T350 RED ROSE was 40 kg lighter than the GRP version.
