Tacht-e-Fulad cemetery

Tacht-e-Fulad ( Persian تخته فولاد, IPA : tæxt ɛ fulɑd ) is a historic cemetery in the Iranian city of Isfahan . The cemetery is at least 800 years old. In the 13th century ( Ilchane era), Tacht-e-Fulad was the city's most important cemetery, where the most famous citizens were buried. Except for the Baba Rokn ed-Din mausoleum , the oldest structure in Tacht-e-Fulad, everything was destroyed. During the Safavid era, the city housed around 400 mausoleums, of which only eight still exist today. During the Qajar era , a large part of the cemetery was destroyed, but it did not lose its importance until the Pahlavi . Before the Safavid period, the cemetery was known as Lessan ol-Ars and Baba Rokn ed-Din and only got its name afterwards.
