Tadeusz Gede (born December 28, 1911 in Tbilisi , Georgia , † March 4, 1982 in Warsaw ) was a politician of the Polish United Workers' Party PZPR ( Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza ) in the People's Republic of Poland , who was foreign trade minister between 1949 and 1952 and from 1952 to 1956 was Vice President of the Council of Ministers. He was also ambassador to the Soviet Union between 1957 and 1959 and later from 1969 to 1973 ambassador to the GDR .

Life

Tadeusz Gede, who was an electrical engineer by profession, was involved in the interwar period in the Union of Independent Socialist Youth "Życie" OMS (Związek Niezależnej Młodzieży Socjalistycznej "”ycie") and in the Communist Youth Association of Poland KZMP (Komunistyczny) Związeż . In 1957 Tadeusz Gede replaced Wacław Lewikowski as ambassador to the Soviet Union and held this post until 1959, when Bolesław Jaszczuk succeeded him there. At the same time he was accredited as ambassador to the Mongolian People's Republic . After his return from Moscow , he served as First Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission of the Council of Ministers between October 24, 1959 and December 16, 1968.
