Dennis "TaKe" Gehlen (born March 7, 1986 in Krefeld ) is a German , internationally known Starcraft II commentator who, with his company TaKeTV, is the largest German-speaking provider of IP-TV e-sports. Among other things, self-produced or commented tournaments of the games Starcraft II , Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , Heroes of the Storm , Hearthstone and Overwatch are broadcast.

Through his own esports career, it is possible for him to fall back on the help of co-commentators well-known in the esports scene, which gives him a lot of international recognition. He made his first successes with his nickname "TaKe" as an active Warcraft III professional and above all as the founder and team manager of the SK06 team (now SK Gaming ). He discovered and promoted Daniel "XlorD" Spenst .

Career

In 2001 Gehlen's active internet gaming career began with the game Starcraft Broodwar . From 2002 he switched to the game Warcraft III . His voting race was "Human". Already in 2002 Gehlen and his team Ocrana celebrated his greatest triumph when he and his Ally "SkY" finished the regular season of the ESL Pro Series I in 2nd place and reached 4th place in the finals, bringing him € 6,500 won. In the following year it was not possible to achieve a top placement, but he was able to make up for it with a 3rd place in 2004.

In 2005, at the age of 19, Take was already the team manager of the SK06 team, which he co-founded. After completing his Abitur he began a traineeship at Turtle Entertainment in 2006 and since then commented as e-sports commentator the games and events of the ESL Pro Series . He was also active as a team manager for the Alternate team and led it to great successes in 2006, 2007 and 2008 at the Asus European Nation Wars, which was endowed with high prizes.

With the start of the beta phase for Starcraft II and the end of Warcraft III in the ESL Pro Series at the beginning of 2010, Gehlen began to actively play Starcraft II and began commenting in the summer of the same year. On April 1, 2011, Gehlen went into business for himself, but will continue to be booked by Turtle Entertainment for moderation and commentary for ESL Pro Series events.

His company TaKeTV is now the largest German e-sports company. She not only has her own commentators there, but also organizes many other events, such as the SeatStory Cup for Hearthstone or the Overwatch TaKeOver for Overwatch, and also helps with the planning of various tournaments at various events, such as DreamHack Leipzig .
