Taliana Vargas
Taliana Maria Vargas Carillo (born December 20, 1987 in Santa Marta , Magdalena , Colombia ) is a Colombian actress and model . In 2007 she was elected Miss Colombia and was runner-up in the Miss Universe competition in 2008. She is studying journalism at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Virginia . Vargas has Greek and Lebanese ancestry and is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian and some Arabic and Greek.
Career
Vargas appeared in her first leading role as Niña Cabrales in the RCN TV soap opera Chepe Fortuna in 2010 . The show, which was a huge hit in Colombia and other parts of South America, earned Taliana a TVyNovelas award for Favorite Actress in a Leading Role.
She is also the main character in another Colombian soap opera called Rafael Orozco El Idolo. It is about a Vallenato - singer from Valledupar , Colombia. Vargas plays this singer's wife.
In 2017 she played Paola Salcedo, the wife of the security chief of the Cali Cartel , in the third season of the American TV series from Netflix : Narcos .
She was also the advertising face of various brands in Colombia, such as L'Oréal Paris Elvive, Studio F and Nestlé .
