The Talkeetna River is an approximately 140 km long left tributary of the Susitna River in southern Alaska .
It rises on the Sovereign Mountain nearby Talkeetna Glacier in the Talkeetna Mountains , initially flows north, then to the southwest and flows Talkeetna in the Susitna River, in the Cook Inlet flows. The Talkeetna River drains an area of 5200 km². The mean discharge is 114 m³ / s.
