The Bffekt dam near Leinefelde in the north of Thuringia dams the Ohne . The dam is a small agricultural reservoir that is used to supply process water and raise the low water level. It was put into operation in 1987.

use

The Bffekt reservoir was built for various reasons:

  • Service water supply for the former VEB Eichsfelder Zementwerk Deuna
  • for sprinkling agricultural areas
  • Flood protection
  • Water regulation of the Wipper for the purpose of leaching in potash mining in Northern Thuringia
  • Fish farming and landscape improvement

Building

The barrier structure is a dam made of silty sand with a sloping water-side seal made of slope clay. The water side is also protected with a blanket made of rolled concrete . The storage basin had to be partially sealed with a sealing carpet. The subsoil consists of alluvial clay, peaty sediments and valley gravel on sandstone. The inlet and overflow structures with the operating facilities are arranged on the left, northern slope.
