The Burgkhammer dam (not to be confused with the Burghammer reservoir ) is part of the Saale cascade . It is the lower basin of the Bleiloch pumped storage power plant and at the same time a run-of-river power plant . The dam is located in the Schleizer district of Burgk in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia and dams the Saale . It was put into operation in 1932.

The barrier structure is a gravity dam made of concrete ( cast concrete ), combined with an earth dam with a double core made of clay and concrete .

The power of the run-of-river power plant is 2.16 megawatts .
