The Ludkovice Dam (Czech Vodní nádrž Ludkovice or Ludkovická přehrada ) is a hydraulic engineering works in the Czech Republic . It is located at the northern exit of Ludkovice and dams the Ludkovický potok at the river kilometer 6.25. The operator is Povodí Moravy sp – závod Střední Morava. It serves as a drinking water reservoir for the Luhačovice waterworks and ensures a minimum flow in Ludkovický potok.

The dam is located on the southern slope of the Vizovice Mountains in the valley of the Ludkovický creek. To the north rise the Oberský (483 m) and Čertův kámen (542 m), in the northeast the Brda (600 m), Baba (635 m), Komonec (672 m) and Větrník (432 m), to the southeast the Obora (386 m) ) and in the northwest the Kamenná (483 m). Surrounding villages are Pradlisko in the north, Řetechov in the northeast, Pozlovice in the east, Luhačovice and Ludkovice in the south, Hřivínův Újezd in the west and Doubravy and Březůvky in the northwest.

history

The dam was built in 1968 as a drinking water reservoir for the water supply of the city of Luhačovice. The embankment consists of sandstone with loam gravel. The local road from Ludkovice via Pradlisko to Provodov , which runs along the eastern bank of the reservoir , was renovated in 2009 to protect the drinking water dam .
