Tamás Tiefenbach (born December 25, 1972 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian football player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Tiefenbach came to the 1993/94 season of Újpest Budapest to Switzerland for second division FC St. Gallen , with whom he end of the season in the National League A rising. In January 1995 he returned to Újpest. For the 1996/97 season he moved back to St. Gallen, but was not used.

He then moved to Austria for the second division club SC Austria Lustenau during the winter break of that season . By the end of the season he completed 13 games for Lustenau in the 2nd division , in which he scored three goals. With the club he was promoted to the Bundesliga as a champion . In his first season in the Bundesliga Tiefenbach came to 29 missions in which he scored nine goals. In the 1998/99 season he completed 27 league games in which he scored five goals. In the 1999/2000 season he came to 21 Bundesliga appearances in which he scored three goals. At the end of the season, however, he went back to the second highest division with the Vorarlbergers.

Then Tiefenbach moved to the 2000/01 season for Bundesliga club VfB Admira Wacker Mödling . For the Lower Austrians, he played 18 games in the Bundesliga, in which he scored three goals. After a season with Admira, he returned to the 2001/02 season for second division Austria Lustenau. In his first season after his return he came to 15 second division appearances, in which he scored six goals. In the 2002/03 season, he completed 21 league games and scored four goals.

For the 2003/04 season he moved to the regional division VfB Hohenems . In three years at Hohenems, he made 68 appearances in the regional league . For the 2006/07 season he joined the fourth-class FC Bizau . For Bizau he played 32 games in the Vorarlbergliga in two seasons . For the 2008/09 season he returned to Hohenems, for which he scored 16 goals in 26 regional league games that season. After the 2008/09 season Tiefenbach ended his active career.

As a trainer

For the 2014/15 season, Tiefenbach became assistant coach of the second division club SC Austria Lustenau , for whom he had already been active as a player for five and a half years. After three years at Lustenau, he switched to league competitor SV Ried for the 2017/18 season , where he became the athletic trainer of Lassaad Chabbi , whom he had supported at Lustenau until his move in March 2017.

After two seasons at Ried, he was again assistant coach in Lustenau for the 2019/20 season, where he was to assist Gernot Plassnegger . After his resignation in September 2019, he became interim head coach. After a game as head coach, he was replaced by Roman Mählich . After Mählich's contract was terminated, he became an interim coach again in July 2020, this time until the end of the season.

Personal

His son Daniel (* 1999) is also a soccer player and is also under contract with Austria Lustenau.
