Tamara Gómez Garrido (born April 3, 1991 in Elche ) is a Spanish triathlete, member of the 2012 Olympic team Deportistas de Alto Nigel and national triathlon champion (2015).

Career

Tamara Gómez celebrated her breakthrough nationally and internationally in 2010 when she was Spanish Junior Champion and third at the Spanish University Championships. At the Spanish Duathlon Championship she won silver in the junior class and then won the Duathlon European Championship in Nancy with her team. In 2010 Tamara Gómez Garrido also entered the elite class and took part in three European Cup competitions.

Like Carolina Routier , Gómez is a member of the Spanish team and lives in the triathlon center Residencia Joaquín Blume in Madrid, where she also studies veterinary medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid .

In Spain, Gómez competed for the Atletisme Crevillent and CERR Strands Triathlon clubs , currently she represents the Federación de Triatlón de la Comunitat Valenciana.

In March 2015, she won the first World Cup race of the new season on the triathlon sprint distance. In August she became the national triathlon champion on the Olympic distance (short distance: 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).
