Tamara Lunger

Tamara Lunger (born June 6, 1986 in Bozen ) is an Italian ski mountaineer .

Life

Tamara Lunger is the daughter of Hansjörg Lunger . She started ski mountaineering in 2002. A year later, she took part in a competition in the sport for the first time on the occasion of the Vertical Race in San Martino di Castrozza . Lunger lives in Karneid .

On May 23, 2010 she was the youngest woman to reach the summit of Lhotse . On July 26, 2014, she stood on the summit of K2 . This ascent was filmed under the title "Tamara" and presented in 2015/16 as part of the European Outdoor Film Tour .

On February 26, 2016, it started from Camp 4 towards the summit as part of the first winter ascent of Nanga Parbat . While Simone Moro , Alex Txikon and Ali Sadpara were the first ever climbers to reach the summit of the 8,125-meter-high Nanga Parbat in winter, Lunger turned back around a hundred meters below the summit due to health problems.

In spring 2017, she and Simone Moro tried to climb the Kangchenjunga Traverse. Because of Moro's health problems, however, the rope team turned back at 7200 m and broke off the expedition. The documentary about the "Kangchenjunga Skyline Expedition" was released under the title "La Congenialità - The Attitude of Gratitude".
