Tamara Wernli

Tamara Wernli (born November 18, 1972 in Basel ) is a Swiss presenter, columnist, author and web video producer .

Life

Wernli grew up in Basel, attended grammar school and obtained the federal commercial diploma . She lived in the USA for five years, trained as an actor in Los Angeles and trained as a professional designation in marketing (marketing planner) at the University of California (UCLA) in Los Angeles. She later trained as a PR specialist at the Swiss Public Relations Institute SPRI and completed her university studies with a Bachelor of History at the Open University, Milton Keynes (UK).

She now works in Basel as a freelance presenter, columnist, author and web video producer. At the Basler Zeitung , she wrote weekly on social issues in her “Tamaras Welt” section. From 1999 she worked for the TV broadcaster Telebasel for almost 20 years as a news presenter, where she also worked as a host, producer and editor of her own talk shows for many years (“CinéBâle”, “Tamara uff Bsuech”, “Cooking in the Castle”). She also writes portraits, interviews, columns and reports for companies. At the end of 2018 she switched to Weltwoche as a columnist .

Wernli wrote several books and occasionally published articles in the Huffington Post Germany and in the magazine Tichys insight . She was a guest author for the Axis of the Good until 2017 . She also has a channel on YouTube with comments on society.

For her work as a columnist and video blogger, Wernli received the “Liberal Award” from the Jungfreisinnigen Kanton Zürich (JFZH) in 2019.

Wernli is married.
