Tamer Ruggli
Tamer Ruggli (* 24. May 1986 in Zurich , Switzerland ) is a Swiss short film - director and screenwriter .
Life
Ruggli was born in Zurich, but grew up in Kinshasa and Riyadh . He attended the bilingual art high school Liceo Artistico in Zurich, which he graduated with the Matura in 2006 . From 2006 he studied film at the Lausanne art school École cantonale d'art de Lausanne ECAL, which he graduated in 2010 with his 15-minute diploma film Cappuccino .
Cappuccino , which revolves around the self-discovery of the homosexual teenager Jérémie, has been shown at numerous international short film festivals. It ran in June 2011 in the Palm Springs International ShortFest competition , at Outfest 2011 and in December 2011 at the 27th Berlin International Short Film Festival . He ran in the Best of SIFF 2011 Shorts competition at the 37th Seattle International Film Festival . In 2011, Cappuccino was released in the UK by Peccadillo Pictures on the anthology DVD Boys on Film: Bad Romance and in the US by Oracle Releasing on the DVD Over the Rainbow - LGBT Shorts .
His short film Hazel took part in the Swiss Competition CHurzfilm I at the International Short Film Festival Winterthur in November 2012 . In 2013, it continued its world tour and was presented at the following internationally renowned festivals: Solothurn Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest , Festival Regard sur le court-métrage au Saguenay (Québec), Rio International Short Film Festival, Los Angeles Outfest, Cork International Film Festival.
He is currently writing his first feature film, Peau de Vache , which is also being produced by Tipi'mages Productions.
