Tami Stronach
Tamara "Tami" Stronach (born July 31, 1972 in Tehran , Iran ) is an American dancer and former film actress .
Life
Tami Stronach was born in Tehran as the second daughter of the Scottish archaeologist and university professor David Stronach (1931-2020) and the Israeli archaeologist Ruth Vaadia (1937-2017) . Her parents were involved in archaeological excavations of sites from the ancient Persian Empire . The family emigrated to Israel in 1978 because of the Islamic Revolution and then to the United States .
In 1984, the then twelve-year-old starred in the film The Neverending Story by director Wolfgang Petersen . She was nominated for the Young Artist Award for her portrayal as Childlike Empress . With a single produced by Ralph Siegel called Fairy Queen , she tried her hand as a singer .
Despite her success as an actress, her parents did not allow her to continue acting, fearing that their daughter might experience a fate like other child stars .
She became a dancer for the Neta Dance Company and is now also a choreographer in New York .
