The Tampa Bay Times (to 2011 St. Petersburg Times ; before that West Hillsborough Times ) is a daily newspaper in the broadsheet format , in St. Petersburg , Florida issued, and in the greater Tampa is sold. Along with the Tampa Tribune, it is one of the two largest newspapers in the Tampa Bay Area . The Times appears daily, Monday through Sunday, and is Florida's largest newspaper with a circulation of almost 370,000 copies. Across the United States, it was ranked 16th as of March 31, 2013, just behind the Star Ledger .

The newspaper has won ten Pulitzer Awards since 1964 and was nominated as a finalist ten more times between 1995 and 2013. The newspaper is operated by the Times Publishing Company , which is owned by the Poynter Institute , a non-profit organization affiliated with the University of South Florida .

Paul Tash appears as chairman and CEO of the West Hillsborough Times newspaper, which was founded on July 25, 1884 as the then weekly newspaper .
