Career

In his youth Tanel Melts played for JK Vaprus Pärnu in his hometown Pärnu . He made his professional debut during the 2006 season against JK Trans Narva , when he was substituted on for Rait Sõrmus when the score was 1-1. In the same season, the midfielder came against FC Ajax Lasnamäe to another use. As with his professional debut, he came into play here through a change of coach. In 2007 and 2008 he was a regular member of the first and second team of the club from the port city of Pärnu. At the beginning of the 2009 season, Melts was awarded to the second team of JK Tulevik Viljandi , where he came up to June in the Esiliiga to 13 games and scored three goals. With the JK Vaprus he rose at the end of the 2008 season due to the away goals rule in the relegation against the table runner-up from the Esiliiga from the Paide Linnameeskond with his club from the Meistriliiga. The same fate overtook him with Pärnu Linnameeskond (new club name of JK Vaprus from 2011) in 2011. In the Esiliiga season 2011 , Melts was only ninth with the club, had to go into relegation and finally lost it to JK Tammeka Tartu II on penalties . At the beginning of the 2012 season he signed a contract with JK Nõmme Kalju . The title contender from the state capital Tallinn initially signed until the end of the season with an option for another year. He made his debut for his new club on the first day of the match in a 0-0 draw against FC Levadia Tallinn, where he was in the starting line-up and was replaced by Yankuba Ceesay after half-time .
