Tanja Becker-Bender (born February 11, 1978 in Stuttgart ) is a German violinist . She lives in Berlin and Hamburg (as of 2016).

Artistic activity

Tanja Becker-Bender has performed as a soloist on international podiums since she was twelve, among others with Kurt Masur , Gerd Albrecht , Hubert Soudant and Fabio Luisi with well-known orchestras such as the SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart , the Konzerthausorchester Berlin , the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Orchester de la Suisse Romande and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra . As a chamber musician, she has appeared at festivals with Gidon Kremer , Juri Baschmet and Boris Pergamenschikow .

education

She received her instrumental training with Helmut Zehetmair at the Mozarteum Salzburg, Wolfgang Marschner in Freiburg, Wilhelm Melcher in Stuttgart, with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and with Günter Pichler at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . She completed her studies with a Master of Music and an Artist Diploma with Robert Mann at the Juilliard School in New York City.

Competitions

Tanja Becker-Bender has received awards at international competitions; u. a. in Geneva ( CIEM ), Tokyo (Bunkamura Orchard Hall Award), Belgium (Concours International de Musique de Chimay), Gorizia (Premio Rodolfo Lipizer), Genoa ( Premio Paganini ) and in Houston (Houston Symphony League Award).

academic career

In 2004 and 2005 Tanja Becker-Bender was director of the violin program of the European American Musical Alliance (EAMA) in Paris. In 2006 she was appointed professor for violin at the Saar University of Music in Saarbrücken. Tanja Becker-Bender has been a professor at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater since the 2009/2010 winter semester . In 2011 she became a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg .
