history

The meeting took place for the first time in 1993 with 25 microlight aircraft . In 2008 it had grown to 1,300 aircraft from 23 countries, and 15,000 visitors were recorded over the three days. A trade exhibition with around 50 exhibitors, a classic car show, workshops, various air shows and a musical supporting program were offered. 150 volunteers ensured that everything ran smoothly and without accidents. Tannkosh 2010 began on Friday, August 27, 2010 with the double overflight of a Panavia Tornado of Fighter Bomber Wing 32 from Lechfeld Air Base . On Saturday, August 28, 2010, the Lufthansa Airbus 380 flew over the Tannkosh site in low flight. August 27, 2011 marked the 80th anniversary of the Do X's splashdown on the Hudson River in New York . On this occasion, an Airbus A380 flew over the Tannkosh Aviation Meeting, coming from an overflight at Friedrichshafen Airport . There was no tannkosh in 2012.

On October 24, 2014, the organizers published a press release stating that no more meetings would be organized in the foreseeable future. They justified this step, among other things, with the increasing accident risk with further growth in the number of participants.
