The dance tournament club Erlangen e. V. ( TTC Erlangen ) is a dance sport club from Erlangen . It is one of the largest dance sport clubs in Bavaria and can look back on numerous national and international successes of its couples. The TTC Erlangen is a member of the State Dance Sports Association of Bavaria (LTVB) and the German Dance Sports Association (DTV) as well as the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV).

history

The association was founded on September 28, 1949. Eighteen years later, the club hosted the German Senior Championships in 1967 to mark the 600th anniversary of the city of Erlangen. The club members Hilde and Herbert Lemnitz became German champions for the first time after several runner-up titles. For its exemplary and successful youth work, the club was awarded the Green Ribbon in 1979 by the Dresdner Bank , advised by the German Olympic Sports Confederation , for exemplary talent promotion in the club. One of the most popular tournaments that the Dance Tournament Club has organized so far was the DSF Tanzbonbon 1992. Couples from all over the world came to measure their performance in the Heinrich-Lades-Halle in Erlangen and the event was hosted by DSF broadcast throughout Germany. The dance tournament club Erlangen was entrusted in 2005 with the organization of the Germany Cup of the main group II S Standard and the Germany Cup of the main group A Latin (the so-called "unofficial German championships"). Over 150 couples took part in the event, which took place over two days in the Regnitz Arena in Hirschaid . Together with the dance school Fun4Dance Ltd. In 2007, the Erlangen Dance Tournament Club hosted the South German championship in Disco Fox. In the anniversary year 2009, the tournament for the Wilhelminen Cup was held as part of a big ball in the Heinrich-Lades-Halle in Erlangen. The trophy went to the then reigning German champions and runner-up world champions Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Köhler , who were second at the World Games in Kaohsiung , Taiwan on July 24, 2009 and world champions on November 28, 2009 in Aarhus , Denmark .

The sport of Erlangen TTC is aimed at all ages and, in addition to the competitive sports in the standard and Latin dance and the dance hobby ( mass sports ), as well as hip-hop and break dancing .

In 1989 the new clubhouse was opened. With two halls with a total of over 320 m² dance floor and a lounge, it offers ideal training conditions.
