The Heinrich-Lades-Halle (until 1990 City Hall Erlangen ) is a congress center in the Middle Franconian city of Erlangen . In addition to conferences , trade fairs , concerts and balls are also regularly held here.

location

The Heinrich-Lades-Halle is located on the Rathausplatz and borders immediately to the south of the new town hall . The exhibition hall of the town hall is directly connected to the 1300 square meter foyer of the congress center. The Heinrich-Lades-Halle is thus part of the municipal and economic center " Neuer Markt " south of the historic old town . The congress center is by several bus lines of the city developed and regional transport (bus stop "Neuer Markt"). Even the Erlangen station is just ten minutes walk away.

history

The then so-called town hall was built between 1969 and 1971 as part of the administration and business center "Neuer Markt" according to the plans of the Nuremberg architect Harald Loebermann , who also played a key role in the execution of the Meistersingerhalle . By a city council resolution of September 26, 1990, the city hall was named after the mayor Heinrich Lades , who died a few weeks earlier and during whose term of office the planning and construction phase of the congress center fell. The Erlanger Kongress- und Veranstaltungsservice GmbH (EKV) , today Erlanger Kongress und Marketing GmbH (EKM) , has been managing the Heinrich-Lades-Halle since 1994 .

description

While the almost unadorned exterior is characterized by predominantly straight lines and the use of exposed concrete , the interior is characterized by mainly pointed and angular shapes and a largely lack of right angles .

The foyer of the Heinrich-Lades-Halle is around 1,300 square meters, the cloakroom is around 450 square meters. From there you can reach the large hall at ground level , which is used for conferences and lectures as well as for concerts and balls. This includes around 1100 square meters, a 200 square meter, triangular cantilevered gallery with polygonal broken columns and an equally large stage . With row seating, this room can accommodate 1250 people, including 265 on the gallery. The walls and the ceiling of the large hall are clad with Peruvian walnut . This softens the angular appearance of the folded ceiling and ensures excellent acoustics . For this reason, the Heinrich-Lades-Halle replaced the Redoutensaal as the most important concert venue in Erlangen.

There is also a small hall with 270 seats with row seating. This is also completely lined with wood and its design is somewhat more reserved; nevertheless, right angles are almost completely dispensed with. This hall also has a small, around 300 square meter foyer and its own 110 square meter cloakroom. Since it also has its own entrance, it can be used independently of the large hall. In addition, eight conference rooms with a simple and functional design are housed in the Heinrich-Lades-Halle . These are between 34 and 120 square meters.
