Tara Pokì is an Italian film drama with western elements from 1971. It has not been shown in German-speaking countries.

action

The farmer's son Mico Sarrabanda works for Don Cialormo Pokì; he is in love with his daughter Tara. When he asks for her hand, he is rudely rejected because of his poverty, whereupon he takes revenge on his rival for Tara's favor, Don Vincenzo Parroni, by burning down his olive plantations. Then he seeks Don Cialormo and kills him. In blood revenge, the son of Baron Micos kills father Pasquale. Mico has meanwhile found refuge with the teacher Grace, but is soon no longer safe there and flees to America.

There he is received by the Calabrese Don Fifi. He relies on Micos bravery; in fact, Mico soon developed into a feared bounty hunter. With success in financial matters and a certain reputation, he asks again for a wedding with Tara Pokì, to whom he has written countless unanswered letters. In fact, Tara soon arrives in his new home. During the wedding party, she kills Mico.

criticism

The barely noticed film is described in blogs as a talkative, rather unexciting peasant drama.

Remarks

The film was only available for regional distribution to a limited extent. The soundtrack was released as a single on "Durium".
