Taraneh Alidoosti ( listen ? / I PersianAudio file / audio sample ترانه عليدوستی; * January 12, 1984 in Tehran ) is an Iranian actress .

Life

She became known in 2002 with the lead role in Man, taraneh, panzdah sal daram . In the same year she won the Bronze Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival for best actress and the Crystal Simorgh at the Iranian Fajr Film Festival .

Her father is the former Iranian national soccer player Hamid Alidoosti , who was also active as a player in Germany in the 1980s for FSV Salmrohr . Her only brother Pouyan died in March 2005 at the age of 16 as a result of an explosion at the annual Persian fire festival Tschahar Shanbe Suri . She was working on the film Fireworks Wednesday at the time , which is set against the backdrop of this very custom.

Alidoosti is married and has one daughter.

At a press conference in Tehran 2016 was a highly slipped sleeves women power - tattoo visible on her forearm. This sparked controversy in the Islamic Republic . She has been accused of being a feminist . Alidoosti finally confirmed this: “Calm down! Yes, I am a feminist. ”And added:“ A feminist is a person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes. ”

In protest against the foreclosure policy of the new US administration under Donald Trump , she did not come to the 2017 Academy Awards , where The Salesman was nominated for best foreign-language film. She said on Twitter: “Trump's visa announcement is racist. Regardless of whether it is a cultural event, I will not come to the Academy Awards 2017 out of protest ”. Trump had previously announced a temporary admission freeze for refugees and a temporary entry ban for Iranian citizens (in addition to those from Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen).
