Tarouquela is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Cinfães .

history

Tarouquela already existed as an independent municipality when it was given to the Mosteiro de Tarouquela monastery together with Espadanedo by King Sancho I in 1186 . It became an independent district until it was dissolved at the beginning of the 18th century and incorporated into the Sanfins district. The municipality of Tarouquela has been part of Cinfães County since the Sanfins County was dissolved in 1855 .
