The Taras Water is a watercourse in Dumfries and Galloway , Scotland . It arises west of the Hartsgarth Fell . It initially flows in a westerly direction and before the confluence of the Byrecleuch Burn turns south to flow to its confluence with the River Esk north of the hamlet of Tarrasfoot .
