Tarzan and Jane (also Edgar Rice Burroughs 'Tarzan and Jane ) is an American - Canadian , animated adventure - television series based on Edgar Rice Burroughs ' character Tarzan is based.

The first season was released on Netflix on January 6, 2017, the second on October 12, 2018. In this there is a crossover with Kong: King of the Apes .

In early June 2015, Netflix ordered the series Tarzan and Jane , which, like Kong: King of the Apes, was produced by 41 Entertainment and Avi Arad and was originally planned for the second half of 2016. The first season with eight episodes was released on January 6, 2017. On October 12, 2018, the second season was released with five episodes. In May 2019 it was announced that Netflix would no longer continue the series.

After a plane crashes in the central African jungle, the gorilla lady Kala retrieves a baby from the wreck and brings it to the nearest village, where the shaman takes him with the medicine from Dr. Porter heals. Tarzan changes these and gives him superhuman abilities from gorillas, jaguars and lions: strength, speed, super-fine hearing and he can put out claws on fingers and toes. Tarzan was raised in the jungles of Kala and formed on the outskirts of the village of Muviro, who entered the University of London ten years later . At the age of fifteen he met Jane, the daughter of Dr. Porter, know and, having become known to the world as the “ape man” through video recordings, is captured and taken to London to live with his grandfather, the Earl of Greystoke. From now on he goes to Burroughs Academy there like Jane.

After Tarzan and Jane dig up the animal dealer ring of the air cargo company Jeremy, acts of sabotage take place against the aid organization of the Earls of Greystoke. Jane's mother Angela, international film star and future journalist, first accuses the Earl, but Tarzan and Jane investigate the acts of sabotage and end up in the African jungle to prevent Muviros village from being destroyed by the sabotage. Tarzan must free his kidnapped mother Kala and convict the culprit: the earl's nephew, Clayton Greystoke.

In the second season, Tarzan and Jane are in Rio de Janeiro , while the Earl and Angela support the aid organization there when they track down ape poachers. In the jungle, a native tribe found the poachers' main hiding place in a temple of a civilization believed to be lost. There they come across the giant monkey Kong (from Kong: King of the Apes ), who was brought to the surface by the poachers, and land with him in his home, the subterranean jungle world Pellucidar .
