Pamuklu or Greek Ταύρος Tavros is a village on the Karpas peninsula in the north of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus and is located in the İskele district of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . The place had 280 inhabitants in 2011.

Pamuklu is located on the Karpas peninsula, 1 kilometer north of Bafra.
history
Pamuklu was inhabited by Greek Cypriots before the 1974 occupation of northern Cyprus by Turkish forces . In the 1960 census, 311 Cypriot Greeks and one Cypriot Turk were counted, in 1973 there were 323 Cypriot Greeks. Most fled after the invasion of the south of the island.
Today Pamuklu is inhabited by Turks who emigrated to the island from mainland Turkey. These came from Giresun , Ordu and Yozgat . In 1978 there were 206 Cypriot Turks in Pamuklu, compared to 280 in 2011.
