The Tawi is a left tributary of the Chanab in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and in the Pakistani province of Punjab .

The Tawi has its origin north of the lake Kailash Kund at an altitude of about 4300  m . Initially it flows through the foothills of the western Himalayas in a north-westerly direction past Dudu to Chenani. The Tawi then turns to the southwest and passes Udhampur and Jammu before crossing the border into Pakistan and flowing into the Chanab. The Tawi has a length of 141 km.
