Taylor Henderson (born March 23, 1993 ) is an Australian pop singer from Geelong , who became known through the talent show The X Factor .

biography

Taylor Henderson first appeared in 2010 at the age of 16 when he and his father took part in Australia's Got Talent . Even then he was quite successful. In the final he had to compete against his father, among others, and finished third behind him.

Three years later he applied to The X Factor and was also able to advance to the finals there. On the way there, he proved to be the most successful candidate: his version of the Cyndi Lauper song Girls Just Want to Have Fun came in at number two in the Australian charts after his performance, and he was able to place three other songs in the top 50 during the preliminary rounds , as many as the favorite Dami Im . Nevertheless, he had to play against the band Third Degree in order to reach third place in the final. Ultimately, he finished the show in second place behind Dami Im.

Henderson's own final song, Borrow My Heart , was released a week after the final. He replaced Dami Im's song at number one on the Australian charts. The album with the recordings of the show songs, released four weeks later, also made it to the top of the charts after its release, something that no runner-up in a show had achieved since 2003. Both the single and the album went platinum .
