action

Claude is a man without a backbone and also pathologically shy, depressed and a hypochondriac . As a die-hard bachelor, he actually resigned himself to being alone - until he unexpectedly met the communicative Serge, a charming adventurer and father of two, at his brother's wedding. As different as they are, they become friends and from then on go stalking together. Serge has a bad habit of infiltrating total strangers to weddings uninvited in order to win lonely women's hearts. One day when he and Claude cheat his way through the entrance control of a wedding party again, the reserved Claude falls head over heels in love with the bride Manon.

Lovesickness torments him until Serge learns through a friend that Manon has left Paris after a marital dispute and has flown to New York. Serge, who knows how happy Claude will be about this news, organizes a trip there for his friend. Claude is already quite close to his goal when he meets his beloved again in the metropolis; because Manon has nothing against further meetings. But already the first date is disappointing for Claude, as Manon's husband has surprisingly followed her and everything points to a reconciliation between the two. Claude has to leave the restaurant without having achieved anything. But Serge is there and proves to be a real buddy and comforter in need. You use your stay abroad for a city tour and decide to change your life. They also want to master life's hurdles together in the future.

background

The film was shot in Paris and New York . The budget was EUR 5.33 million.

The scene in which Serge asks for a milder shampoo could be a reference to the previous film RRRrrrr !!! be the two main protagonists in which Stone Age people discover the art of washing their hair.

Two alternative titles for the German DVD version are Just Friends - 2 dissimilar friends and Die Draufgänger . The film was released on DVD in Germany on January 4, 2007.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films calls the film an "amusing and well-cast comedy that develops into a portrait of an unusual friendship between men".

Anyone who knows the comedian couple Depardieu / Richard from the 1980s will quickly find parallels here. Pierre Richard was replaced by comedian and newcomer Jean-Paul Rouve.
