Valérie Benguigui (born November 6, 1965 in Paris ; † September 2, 2013 there ) was a French actress .

Life

After completing her acting studies at the Cours Florent , she began her first theater engagement at the Théâtre national de Chaillot at the age of 24 . She played theater for years before her film career began in the late 1990s. In 1986 she had a small role in Francis Huster's On a volé Charlie Spencer! Since then there have been appearances in films such as drug scenes and fasting in Italian . For the portrayal of Elisabeth in Alexandre de La Patellières and Matthieu Delaporte's comedy The First Name , Valérie Benguigui was honored as Best Supporting Actress at the 2013 French César Film Prize.

Benguigui was married to the actor and restaurant manager Eric Wapler, whom she met while studying at the Cours Florent. The couple had two children.

Benguigui died of complications from cancer at the age of 47. She was buried in the Montparnasse cemetery.
