Teddy Thompson (2010)

Teddy Thompson (born February 19, 1976 in London ) is a British folk rock musician (vocals, guitar), songwriter and record producer.

The son of British folk rock musicians Richard and Linda Thompson grew up with his parents in a commune. He founded his own band as a teenager and went to Los Angeles in 1998 to start a music career there. He accompanied his father on tours and worked on his album You? Me? Us? (1996), Celtschmerz (1998) and Mock Tudor (1999) as guitarist and background singer. On his mother's comeback album Fashionable Late (2002) he was also involved as a guitarist and background singer as well as a co-producer; he also led her band on the following tour.

In 2000, his debut album Teddy Thompson, produced by Joe Henry , was released on Virgin Records . In 2003 he accompanied the singer Rosanne Cash on a tour and when recording the album Rules of Travel . In 2004 he self-published the EP Blunderbuss . This was followed by guest appearances on albums by Rufus Wainwright , the Chieftains , Kate and Anna McGarrigle , Lee Feldman and Shawn Colvin , before his second album Separate Ways was released in 2006 on the crossover label Verve Forecast . This was followed by Upfront & Down Low (2007), A Piece of What You Nee (2008), Bella (2011), in 2016 in collaboration with singer-songwriter Kelly Jones Little Windoes and 2020 Heartbreaker Please . With his parents, his sister Kami Thompson , his half-brother Jack Thompson and his cousin Zack Hobbs , he produced the album Family in 2014 . He also produced Dori Freeman's debut album ( Dori Freeman , 2016) and her albums Letters Never Read (2017) and Every Single Star (2019).
