Teeworlds a is free multiplayer - computer game of the type Run 'n' Gun, a shoot 'em up . The game is available for Windows , Linux , macOS , Android , AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS . The source code was published in December 2007 under the BSD license . To fund hardware and hosting fees, the developers accept donations from players.

history

Due to hacker attacks and spam , the main developer Magnus Auvinen stopped the development and support of Teeworlds on August 29, 2010 . He organized a team of volunteers to continue developing and supporting the game.

On August 24, 2015, Teeworlds was released as a free game on Steam to make the game easier to access and to attract new players.

Due to attacks by IP spoofing , heinrich5991 published an update (0.6.5) on October 13, 2018 to partially close this gap. One day later Oy released 0.7 Beta . After evaluating the beta phase, 0.7.1 was released on December 9, 2018.

Oy has revived development as the updates decreased more and more before the attacks . Dune is responsible for public relations, Heinrich5991 is a developer.

Game mechanics

The game world is designed in 2D cartoon graphics with side scrolling . You play a spherical creature (called "tea" in the game), which is very similar to the characters Kirby and Pac-Man .

weapons

The weapons from Teeworlds were largely inspired by the games Quake and Unreal Tournament .

The grenade launcher shoots a grenade that does a lot of damage in a large area. If the shooter is in the explosion radius of the grenade, however, it can also be dangerous for the shooter. A so-called rocket jump can be performed with this weapon .

The hammer is a standard weapon. It does a lot of damage, but only if hit directly with it.

The katana rarely appears on a few cards. After you have collected this weapon, the skin of the tea changes (into a ninja). This weapon does a lot of damage.

You have to aim very precisely with the laser cannon in order to hit. The beam is very fast, reflects off walls and does moderate damage.

The pistol is another standard weapon. Your ammunition is regenerating. However, it does little damage.

The shotgun always releases five bullets with one shot, which are distributed like a fan. The damage depends on the range, but at close range it causes great damage.
