Tejaswin Shankar (born December 21, 1998 in Varanasi ) is an Indian high jumper .

Athletic career

Tejaswin Shankar gained his first international experience at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Cali , where he finished eighth with 2.07 m. He then won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Apia with 2.14 m. In 2016, he failed to cross the starting height at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha . At the Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City , he finished seventh with 2.07 m. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and finished sixth there with 2.24 m.

He is a student at Kansas State University .
