Telecom 2A is a television satellite owned by France Télécom SA / CNES . He was launched into space in 1991 by the Center Spatial Guyanais , the Kourou spaceport ( French Guiana ). Telecom 2A had a takeoff weight of 2,275 kilograms.
Telecom 2A is in an inclined orbit . The satellite is only active on special occasions, for example during the Tour de France or during presidential elections.
Programs can be found on Ku and C-band frequencies. Analog broadcasts are also still located here.

The satellite can be received in Europe . Reception is possible in all parts of DA-CH with a dish diameter between 60 and 90 cm, as the satellite is in the so-called "inclined orbit". But that is bearable, since it does not broadcast any regular TV programs anyway.
