action

Dominique Pieperman is a young would-be writer who lives in the hipster community subculture of Berlin . Your publisher, Andreas Orlow, however, rejects your new book manuscript as "inauthentic". Disappointed about this, she leaves Berlin with the doner kebab seller Deniz and tries to retreat to a lonely valley in the Swiss Alps ( Valais ) and escape from everyday life. After a romance and a disappointing love, the confrontation with a Fiat-Panda-mad pimp and all kinds of adventures, she no longer feels comfortable there either. Heavily humiliated and left alone, but finally with new inspiration for her first novel under the title: " Tempo Girl - The Story of a Generation ", she is back in her home in Berlin.

production

The film “Tempo Girl” is Dominik Locher's feature film debut and a bachelor's degree project at the Zurich University of the Arts . Most of it was shot in the canton of Valais. The main location was the former gas station at the “Schiffmani” swimming pool in Susten . Some scenes also take place inside this swimming pool. A disco in Sion and a bar in Brig were also shooting locations.

reception

Hans Jürg Zinsli from the Aargauer Zeitung describes Tempo Girl as "a concentrated load [...] which the director Locher throws onto the screen as an alpine western, outsider comedy and generation portrait." The critic of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung finds that the film is "almost worthy of criticism" withdraws because it is "half-baked and in places tasteless".
