The word processing software Tempus-Word was developed and published in 1990 by the company Creative Computer Design (CCD) from Eltville ( Hessen , Germany ) for the Atari ST and Atari TT . After the closure of the Creativ Computer Design company, Claudio Kronmüller, Norbert Simon and Manfred Lang have continued to develop and maintain the program since spring 2003.

According to those responsible, there will be no more new versions of Tempus-Word. However, bug fixes for Tempus-Word are still offered.

Development history

The word processing software Tempus-Word arose from the text editor program Tempus-Editor , which uses the GEM user interface .

When Gemulator was published in 1992, it was explicitly stated that Tempus Word works with the emulator for PC-DOS . Version 5.00 was released on July 16, 2003, replacing the previous version 2.92 by Creativ Computer Design. Smaller fixes and changes were made in versions 5.01 and 5.02. In version 5.1, menu entries and import functions have been changed. The last version 5.4 was published on December 27, 2004 for version 5.15, 5.2 and 5.3.

System requirements

Atari

An Atari computer with 8 MHz clock frequency , 10 MB hard disk space and 4 MB main memory is sufficient for the use of Tempus Word . The program does not need to be installed .

Windows

In addition to the hardware requirements of the Atari version , additional hard disk and memory space is required when operating under Microsoft Windows for the TOS emulator , which is supplied with the Windows version as a runtime version . The main memory should be 64 MB and the processor speed 300 MHz. The extent to which the emulator can run under the current Windows operating systems ( Windows Vista , Windows 7 and Windows 8 ) is not specified on the developer side.

Apple

Tempus-Word can also be operated with a TOS emulator under the Apple operating systems . The hardware requirements correspond to the emulator used plus the resources required by Tempus-Word.
