Galileo (horse)
Galileo (born March 30, 1998) is a vacancy caused by resignation Irish Thoroughbred - racehorse and an active breeding stallion . In his one-year racing career from October 2000 to October 2001, he ran eight races and won six of them. He won the Epsom Derby , the Irish Derby and the 2001 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes . His rival was Fantastic Light from Godolphin Racing Team. Galileo was named European Champion Three-Year-Old Colt in 2001.
Galileo is one of the world's most sought-after stallions. In 2008 he became champion of sire horses in England and Ireland for the first time . From 2010 to 2018 he was able to renew this title. In 2019 he posted his fourth Derby winner with New Approach after Ruler Of The World, Australia and Anthony Van Dyck . Anthony Van Dyck was also his 77th group - I winner. After Danehill , he has the most Group I winners anywhere in the world. Among his offspring are such important horses as Frankel , Nathaniel , Found , Churchill and Minding . He is also a successful mother father.

Galileo became European Champion Three-Year-Old at the Cartier Racing Awards . His final timeform rating was 134.
Breeding career
Galileo was set up by the Coolmore Stud at its main station in Fethard, County Tipperary , Ireland. In the beginning he served as a "shuttle" stallion and was in Ireland during the European breeding season. For the breeding season of the southern hemisphere, he was placed in the Australian branch of the stud in the Hunter Valley , New South Wales . Since 2012 it has only been set up in Ireland.
Galileo was the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland from 2008 and from 2010 to 2018. Since 2008, its stud fee has been privately negotiated. He is currently considered the most expensive stallion in the world, with a stud fee in excess of € 400,000. By June 1, 2019, he had 192 group race winners . In the 2019 derby he was the father, grandfather or great-grandfather of 12 of the 13 starters, and he was the mother's father of the 13th starter. In September 2008, Galileo received a colic operation.
