Ter Aar ( ), also popularly called Aardam , is a place and a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland with 9,045 inhabitants. Since January 1, 2007, together with Liemeer and Nieuwkoop, it has formed a new municipality called Nieuwkoop .
