Terrell Lyday (born August 12, 1979 in Fresno , California ) is an American basketball player . In addition to his youth, Lyday played the rest of his career in Europe. As of early 2012, he played the position of guard in the Russian PBL for UNICS Kazan .

Career as a player

USA (1997-2001)

Lyday moved from Herbert Hoover High School in his hometown in 1997 to Fresno City College, where he played for the Rams college team in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association. After two years at junior college , he was able to qualify for a secondary college and studied at Brigham Young University in the US state of Utah . During his two years (1999-2001) with the Brigham Young Cougars, he came to 16.4 points per game.

Europe (since 2001)

Lyday has been playing in Europe since 2001. From 2001 to 2005 he played for a year with different clubs in Poland and Turkey in France without any notable success. For the 2005/06 season he moved to Ural Great Perm in the Russian Super League and won the FIBA EuroCup Challenge 2006. He then moved to Italy to Benetton Treviso and won the Italian Supercup in the same year and the Italian Cup the following year. Lyday has been playing for the Russian UNICS since the 2008/09 season. His greatest success with the team from Kazan was winning the ULEB Eurocup 2011. Other successes with UNICS were winning the Russian Cup in 2009, participating in the finals in the Russian Cup in 2008 and in the VTB United League in 2010, as well as third place in each Russian championship 2010 and 2011. Lyday has a contract with UNICS until 2013.
