Terry Tobacco

Terry Tobacco (actually Charles Terence Tobacco; born March 2, 1936 in Cumberland , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian sprinter .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he won bronze over 440 yards and silver with the Canadian 4-by-440-yard relay.

In 1956 he reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Melbourne over 400 m and came in fifth place in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the Canadian team.

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 , he took bronze again over 440 yards and was fourth in the Canadian 4-by-440-yard relay.

Two years later, he retired from the Olympic Games in Rome over 400 m in the quarter-finals and in the 4-by-100-meter relay and the 4-by-400-meter relay in the semifinals.

In 1956, 1958 and 1960 he was Canadian champion over 400 m and 440 yards.
