Terry Zwigoff
Terry Zwigoff (born May 18, 1949 in Appleton , Wisconsin ) is an American film director and musician .
Career
In 1985 Zwigoff made his directorial debut, the documentary Louie Bluie about the blues musician Howard "Louie Bluie" Armstrong . Zwigoff became known with the award-winning documentary Crumb about the comic artist Robert Crumb . He then received the offer, Wild Man Blues on Woody Allen's Jazz Band to turn "Woody Allen with the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band". Zwigoff, however , gave preference to Ghost World , the real-life version of the comic strip of the same name by Daniel Clowes . Zwigoff worked again with Clowes for Art School Confidential , but the film failed to build on the success of Ghost World .
