tert -Butylchromate is a chemical compound from the group of esters , more precisely chromic acid esters . Like all chromic acid derivatives , it is carcinogenic . The connection is unstable (except in solution).

presentation

Tert-butyl chromate can be prepared by reacting chromium trioxide with tert- butanol with cooling in an organic solvent.

use

tert -Butyl chromate is used as a mild oxidizing agent. It is also used in certain reactions as a source of chromium, in chromatography , for the production of catalysts and for the polymerization of olefins .
