Teshome Gelana
Teshome Gelana (* 1985 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .
He won the 2006 Piacenza Marathon in 2:17:07 h and in 2007 the Miami Marathon in 2:17:50 h. In 2008 he achieved a significant increase in his performance level. He finished fifth in the Tiberias Marathon with a new personal best of 2:11:58 h. At the Turin Marathon he was tenth in 2:13:32 h, and in the Reims Marathon he improved his personal record to 2:11:50 h in eighth place.
In 2009 Gelana finished third in the Barcelona Marathon in 2:14:32 hours. He also won the Warsaw Marathon in 2:12:03 h and missed the course record by just 13 seconds. At the beginning of the 2010 season he made another leap in performance. He won the Houston Marathon in a track record time of 2:07:37 hours and thus undercut his personal best by more than four minutes.
