Textile technology
The textile technology includes the technique of processing of textile fibers to textiles . The associated job title is textile engineer .
In the order in which they are implemented, these include
- processing of textile fibers such as reeling and washing of silk, degreasing and carbonizing of wool and carding and combing of animal and vegetable fibers and man-made fibers, possibly bleaching and dyeing
- the spinning of fibers into yarn , optionally bleaching and dyeing
- Manufacture of fabrics from yarns by
- Weave
- stitch-forming processes such as knitting , knitting , crochet , naalbinding
- Braiding and knotting
- or other handicrafts .
- Manufacture of fabrics from fibers by
- Textile finishing or finishing , including bleaching, dyeing or printing, impregnation or fulling
- Manufacture of textile end products such as clothing , home textiles , technical textiles by sewing or making-up
- Ornament z. B. by embroidery , sewing on appliqués such as lace , trimmings
- Textile care of the end products z. B. by washing and plugging .
All of these techniques could or can be carried out by hand , in a factory or industrially .
