Hammersen textile factory

The former Hammersen textile factory is located in the Rheydt -Morr district of Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), Dahlener Strasse 562, 570.
The building was built in 1905/1906. It was entered under No. D 006 on December 4, 1984 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
architecture
In the district of Morr there is an extensive factory complex in solid brick construction with a roofed hall construction made of flat arched steel trusses and arched ceiling shells made of iron- reinforced pumice concrete . The buildings were erected in 1905/1906 and expanded in the second construction phase in 1910 and 1916.
Factory building
Combined in the east behind a monumental gable facade are the boiler house and two-storey machine hall , each covered in a cantilevered manner, flanked on both sides by water towers integrated into the building , behind which the associated factory chimney serves as an asymmetrical accent . Subsequently, in the back building line, an elongated single-storey low-rise building on a high basement plinth, the offices, the former sorting and loading rooms as well as the access corridor illuminated by glass domes contains a three-aisled warehouse in the west as a protruding side wing with a workshop extension set back to the side only added in 1910.
Director's villa
It is a one-and-a-half storey plastered building over an approximately square floor plan ; high protruding basement plinth, protruding mansard roof with three-quarters hipped and box-like eaves cornice .
