Thadeu Gomes Canellas (born July 28, 1930 in Gravatai ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic former bishop of Osório .

Life

Thadeu Gomes Canellas was ordained a priest on February 25, 1956 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Porto Alegre and titular bishop of Iunca in Byzacena on November 19, 1983 . The Archbishop of Porto Alegre, João Cláudio Colling , donated him episcopal ordination on February 25 of the following year ; Co-consecrators were Alfredo Vicente Cardinal Scherer , senior archbishop of Porto Alegre, and Edmundo Luís Kunz , auxiliary bishop in Porto Alegre.

On November 10, 1999 he was appointed the first bishop of the Diocese of Osório , which was established on the same date . On November 15, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
