Thassilo Haun (born November 21, 1973 in Saarbrücken ) is a German tennis player .

Career

Thassilo Haun started playing tennis at the age of five. After graduating from high school, he played in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga tennis . In the period from 1993 to 1996 he played almost all of his professional tournaments where he competed in satellites . During this time he reached his career high with rank 582 in singles and rank 851 in doubles. Nikola Pilić was an active supporter of his during this time. After this time he concentrated on his professional career as a medical doctor.

In 2004 he became active again and won the Bavarian championships for men over 30. He decided to become a tennis coach and in 2007 he became the association coach of the U14 juniors in the Bavarian Tennis Association . He later became head trainer of the MTTC Iphitos in Bavaria, for which his sponsor Pilić also worked. He was awarded the Silver Badge of Honor by his club there. After almost 15 years, Haun got a wildcard in 2011 for the doubles field of the ATP World tournament in Kitzbühel , where he lost with Stefan Koubek in the opening round. This was his last professional tournament.

As a tennis senior, Haun is still the only player who has made the triple of the World Cup titles in singles, doubles and mixed and also the only one who finished the calendar year in first place in the world in each of these categories. In 2015 he was awarded the BTV honorary letter for his achievements in tennis. In 2013 he retired from active sports again.
